A free 3-week training for International Students

“Feeling @ home in TCD”
Running: 3 Consecutive Tuesdays, 2 hours per session:
Dates: November 17th, 24th and 1st of December
Time: 6.00pm –8.00pm
Venue: Room 2041A Jonathan Swift Theatre, Arts block
Description: Each session aims to help you understand the hidden cultural ‘rules’ that affect your social and academic interactions here in Trinity and in Dublin. The training will build on your existing skills through discussion and practical activities. You will also have plenty of opportunities to talk about your experiences and share ideas with the group. It will be co-facilitated by members of the Student Counselling Services and Dublin University International Student Society.
The course will look at:
· social conversation (what to say after “hello”)
· seeking help (how to get what you want, Irish-style)
· saying no and expressing disagreement
Interacting with academic staff (tutors, supervisors, lecturers)
Learn skills to help you adapt
to the learning and social environment
at Trinity and in Dublin
This training is aimed at newly-arrived international students.
